6 Maui Tearchers Gain National Board Certification

The number of nationally Board Certified Teachers in Hawaii increased 24% over last year for a total of 203 teachers in the state with board certification. Of the 41 new names added to the list, six were from Maui schools.

The list of newly certified teachers includes Naomi McCall, Lesley Ann Pico-Lilio, Cecelia Romero, Janet Sato, Scott Clarke, and Teresa Rosario.

Only 2 percent of teachers in the nation are board certified with the profession’s highest credential.
