There is nothing like music to evoke memories and emotions.

Doesn’t the sound of “Jingle Bells” get you all in a tizzy like a two year old waiting for Santa?

How better to blend your inner child with your more sophisticated, adult self, than to let the Maui Pops orchestra sweep you and your family away on a symphonic journey through Christmases past?

‘Tis the season to be jolly, and you will be hard pressed to find a frown amongst the faces of what is sure to be a sold out community gathering, immersed in the symphonic sounds of the season.

The Maui Pops Orchestra has been holding down the fort for years in this arena, working hard all year to prepare a symphonic melange of holiday fun! Led by Music Director James Durham, your very own talented community orchestra will sweep you away with a selection of seasonal favorites and Broadway numbers.

This year the show will take place on Sunday, December 5th at 3:30 PM at the MACC’s Castle Theatre.

The Maui Pops Orchestra will be joined by special guests, the Honolulu Symphony Chorus, who will perform three choruses from Handel’s Messiah, amongst other pieces!

Be sure to get your tickets early, and bring the whole family out to get an early start on the season’s holiday cheer! Prices range from $10-$21-$26-$41 depending on the location of your seats. To reserve your tickets, call (808) 242-7469 or go to

In Hawaii, we may not experience a snowy white Christmas, but our local culture abounds with the melodies that wish us a “Mele Kalikimaka” (“Merry Christmas”). Come join in on the fun with your neighbors and ohana!
