The National Weather service issued a flash flood warning for the wester portion of Molokai until 11:45 a.m. today (Sunday, December 19, 2010).

At 8:30 a.m., radar showed persistent heavy rain over the far western portion of Molokai.

Local spotters report 2.5 inches of rainfall between 7 and 9 a.m. across the western portion of the island.  Radar shows the heaviest showers are beginning to move north of Molokai, but more rain is moving in from the southwest.

Other locations in the warning include, but are not limited to Kepuhi

A flash flood warning means flash flooding is imminent or occurring in streams, roads and low-lying areas. The public is reminded not to cross fast flowing or rising water in their vehicles or on foot.
