WestJet plans to add direct service between Canada and Hawaii.  WestJet plans to operate the flights for two and a half months using a Boeing 757-200 plane leased from North American Airlines, that’s able to seat 193 passengers.

The seating capacity is an increase from the space available on the company’s own 737-700 aircraft. “So, now even more guests will have access to the only daytime schedule in both directions on convenient non-stop flights to Maui and Honolulu,” said Hugh Dunleavy, WestJet Executive Vice-President, Strategy and Planning.

“This announcement demonstrates our flexibility as an airline as well as our ability to maintain our competitive edge in this market,” said Dunleavy.
