A High Surf Advisory is in effect for the East facing shores of Maui and Molokai until 6 p.m.
Surf is expected to be in the 6-8 foot range through tonight.
The National Weather Service says advisory level surf can produce rip currents and localized beach erosion. As a precaution, beach goers should stay out of the water and well away from the shore break along affected shores.
A high tide of approximately 2.0 feet is expected between 6:16 and 7:34 p.m. Friday. The next high tide of approximately 1.2 feet is expected between 3:07 and 4:25 a.m. Saturday morning.
