Did you know that stand up paddling, aka SUP, is the world’s fastest growing water sport? Did you also know that the sport got its start in Hawaii?

Take a peak into the history, passion, and the stars of this emerging water sport tonight at The Maui Arts and Cultural Center at 7:30pm for the screening of “That First Glide.”

Directed by Paia Filmmaker Mike Waltz, “That First Glide” explores the roots of SUP and their connection to the early surfers of Hawaii. Watermen such as Laird Hamilton, Gerry Lopez, Dave Kalama, Robby Naish, Brian Keaulana, Kai Lenny and more, share their stories about the sport that is currently taking the world by storm.

If you are already a SUP devotee or if you are curious about the experience, this film is not to be missed.

Tickets are $12. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Maliko Water Sports.
