Cecilio Rodriguez, the island musician who performs as one half of C&K, was arrested in Los Angeles on Tuesday on felony charges. He was being held on $200,000 bail with his initial court appearance set for today in Compton Municipal Court.

The Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department notes that the arrest is a felony, but does not go into detail about the arrest.  Both the Honolulu Star Advertiser and Hawaii News Now report the arrest was for allegedly committing a lewd and lascivious act against a child under the age of 14.

Henry Kapono, the other half of the performing group C&K responded to the reports by posting a statement on his facebook fan page saying:

“I am currently on vacation at Disneyland with my family and have just recently learned about Cecilio’s arrest in Los Angeles. I have received many calls from media and friends. I have not spoken with him and only know what has been reported in the media. I did not see this coming. I am saddened for Cecilio and heart broken for the family involved. My heart and prayers go out to them. Love & Peace to all, Henry Kapono”

According to Sheriffs Department data, Rodriguez, 66, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, and booked at the Carson Station. Rodriguez was being held at the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles.
