‘Iao Valley State Park and Polipoli Spring State Park on Maui are both closed this afternoon due to heavy rains and rising stream water at ‘Iao stream.

The state Department of Land and Natural Resources implemented the closure saying continued rain is forecast for most of the day.

If the weather subsides by tomorrow, and the ‘Iao Stream is back to normal, the Maui Division of State Parks will reopen the park facilities.
