A 61-year-old man was airlifted to safety this morning (Tuesday, May 1, 2012) after being located at the bottom of a gulch on Molokai.

Fire and rescue crews responded to a report at around 11:30 a.m., of a man who was suffering from an unknown medical condition in the area near the Makapupaia trail.

The man was airlifted by Air-1 and Rescue-10 to Onelii Park, where he was taken by ambulance to the Molokai General Hospital for treatment.  Also responding to the scene were firefighters from Engine-4.

Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga said the patient was last reported to be in stable condition.
