Business owners will be given the chance to learn about tools and strategies that can be implemented to increase energy efficiency and renewable energy use in their businesses.

On June 20, the Maui Economic Development Board and the Hawaii Technology Development Corporation-Manufacturing Extension Program will present “Curb Your Energy Diet: Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy for Business Workshop.”

Topics that will be included are:

  • Refrigeration and Freezing
  • Lighting
  • Cooling
  • Energy “Vampires” (computers, satellite/cable boxes, phone chargers)
  • Financial Incentives and Rebates

MEDB is also asking the public to respond to their Energy Consumption Survey for Business survey online. According to MEDB, the information provided in the survey will only be used for statistical purposes, with no mention of specific answers provided.

The business energy efficiency workshop runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the MEDB Malcolm Center in the Maui Research and Technology Park, 1305 N. Holopono Street, Suite 5, in Kihei. The fee is $20 and includes lunch and refreshments.
