Maui Officer Arrested in Alleged Sex Assault Case

An 18-year-veteran with the Maui Police Department was arrested for third degree sex assault yesterday following allegations of sexual misconduct made by a 15-year-old juvenile female, police said.

Sergeant Paul Bailey was placed under arrest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, and was processed without incident.  Maui police say he was released pending an ongoing investigation.

Sgt. Bailey is presently on Administrative Leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
