The Maui couple arrested yesterday following the unexplained death of a four-year old boy, has since been charged with allegations of second degree murder.

Kyle McKeown, 32, and Grace Lee-Nakamoto, 27, (described by police as McKeown’s live-in girlfriend) were arrested on Wednesday morning and charged at around 2:15 this afternoon, in connection with the murder investigation.

Maui police say the child victim was brought in to the Maui Memorial Medical Center on Tuesday night at around 10:57 p.m. for treatment.

According to police, the child sustained severe blunt force trauma to his internal organs, and subsequently succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, May 30, at around 4:33 a.m.

Bail has since been set at $ 500,000 for each.

Both McKeown and Lee-Nakamoto remained in custody at last report.
