A “Permitting Open House” will be held on July 6 by Mayor Alan Arakawa’s Permit Process Improvement Team (PPIT) taskforce and the public is encouraged to attend this free event.

Representatives from the County of Maui’s Planning, Public Works, Environmental Management, Water and Fire Departments will be available to answer residential and business related permitting concerns right at the event, or set up a follow-up appointment to meet with the appropriate county departments.

Those interested should come up to the 9th floor of the Kalana O Maui building on July 6 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Residents and business owners are encouraged to bring their building plans and other supporting documents.

Once registered at the event, attendees will be able to talk to speak directly to representatives from the departments of Planning, Public Works, Environmental Management, Water and Fire regarding permits. Directors and deputy directors for the departments will also be present.

For more information about the event, please call Capital Improvement Program Coordinator Wendy Taomoto at 270-6258.
