The Maui Department of Water Supply has launched a new spray nozzle trade-out program to food service providers as a way to reduce costs.

The spray nozzles are being offered to restaurants, cafeterias, and other commercial food service providers, free of charge to help facilities save on hot water and sewer costs.

The 1.15 gallon per minute high-efficiency, high-velocity device would replace existing pre-rinse kitchen sprayers at eligible restaurants, schools, hospitals, cafeterias, grocery stores and hotels.

The program is in effect as long as the limited supply lasts.

In order to qualify, applicants must: 1) be an existing customer of the County of Maui Department of Water Supply;  2) own or operate a restaurant or food service facility; and 3) have an existing pre-rinse assembly and a high water use spray nozzle.

Application forms are available online at, and at the Department of Water Supply Water Resources and Planning Division office, located at One Main Plaza, Suite 102 in Wailuku.

More information is available by calling 463-3110 or 463-3108.
