The Maui Department of Water Supply responded to reports of dirty water in some parts of Wailuku on Thursday night, August 16, 2012.

Officials said some customers in the Milo Court area of the Kehalani subdivision made the report.

An estimated 50 homes were believed to be affected, according to officials.

Department of Water Supply Administrative Officer Jacky Takakura said the source of the dirt was not confirmed, however, it may have been from construction activity in the area earlier in the day, she said.

Crews anticipated a restoration of normal service after flushing the waterlines by around 11:30 last night.
