The County of Maui is proposing the extention of the existing shoreline protection at the Wailuku-Kahului Wastewater Reclamation Facility.

The Department of Environmental Management wants to extend a revetment by 1,200 feet to the west.

The original revetment was constructed in 1979 at the recommendation of the Army Corps of Engineers to protect the facility.

A 45 day public review and comment period on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement runs through October 8, 2012.
