A wind advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2013, for the summit of Haleakala and the Island of Lanai.

Forecasters from the National Weather Service say winds will be blowing from the Northeast at 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph.

Authorities say winds this strong can bring down tree branches and make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
