The Hawaiʻi Police Department reported that they received numerous 911 calls Monday morning in response to an April Fool’s Day joke.

According to police, a local radio station falsely reported on its Facebook page that Saddle Road was closed at the 28-mile marker due to a lava flow.

Officials with the police department say Saddle Road is open and there is no lava flow anywhere near that area.

The false report, authorities say, was an April Fool’s Day prank.
