A flood watch is in effect until early tomorrow morning for the islands of Kauaʻi and Niʻihau.

Forecasters from the National Weather Service say the wet weather over the western portion of the state is being generated by an approaching cold front that will bring periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms, and the possibility of flash flooding.

The NWS issued the flood watch through 6 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23.
