The recent run of light winds combined with a small east swell to make glassy perfection.

There have been consistent waves on the east facing shores for a while now as summer kicks into gear. Forget about south swells for the time being – the east side is where its at.

At one of the more popular spots that gets E/NE swell, conditions were all-time making for long hypnotizing rides all the way across the shallow reef. This spot usually suffers from strong trade winds that just turn any type of swell into mush and is an average wave at best.

However, when the stars do align and the wind dies and there is a swell, this particular spot turns into a world class wave that will peel for 100 yards or longer depending on how big it is. This is a perfect longboard/SUP/Fish type wave. It is up to you to go find it.

This wave may appear friendly at times, but when the crowd starts to get thick, getting the right wave can be very frustrating. So it is important dial down a spot by really analyzing where the best waves break and where to sit.

It is good for your surfing to surf a certain spot in all conditions regardless, just so you know how the spot works. Spending time out in the water will help you read the spot better when the waves do turn on and a crowd starts to develop.

This weekend was great for surf. Small, glassy, and perfect is what the majority of surfers want out of a surf session. Forget death defying Jaws and ultra-crowded Honolua, a head high peeling, glassy wave will keep your surf stoke alive and well.

The forecast is not showing any signs of new swells on the way, but the light winds are supposed to stick around for the remainder of the week keeping things nice and hot, making the ocean look that much more tempting. Add perfect waves and you have got yourself an awesome surf session.
