Residential home sales on Maui fell slightly while condominium sales experienced a significant increase in April 2013, according to statistics released by the Realtors Association of Maui this week.

The publication reports 77 homes were sold in April at a median price of $500,000. The majority of home sales were in the Central Maui area where 27 homes sold for a median of $380,000.  Kihei came in second with 14 homes sold for a median of $481,000.

Several high-end properties also sold in the Wailea/Makena area where four homes went for a median of more than $4.4 million, and 17 condominiums sold for $18.4 million.

Overall, condo sales took a sharp climb, rising 41% in April from the previous month. A total of 143 condos were sold, 44 of them in Kihei and 27 in the Napili area, for $77 million (up from $62 million one month ago).
