A high surf advisory is in effect for the north and east facing shores of Maui and Molokaʻi until midnight on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013.

The National Weather Service issued the advisory saying localized beach erosion had rip currents will be present at beaches under the advisory area.

The north swell is expected to bring surf of 14 to 18 feet this evening, slowly declining into the evening hours.

On the east shores, surf will be in the 6 to 10 foot range on Friday evening, decreasing to 5 to 8 feet after midnight.
