Members of the Hawaiʻi State House and Senate will honor Maui native and baseball star Shane Victorino during commendation ceremonies.

The ceremonies will take place Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 11:30 a.m in the Senate Chambers and 12 p.m. in the House Chambers of the Capitol.

The recognition is for Victorino’s “career of baseball excellence and for the contributions of the Shane Victorino Foundation.”

The St. Anthony High School graduate is a two time major league all-star, two time world-series champion, four time golden glove recipient, a Lou Gehrig Memorial Award recipient, and a Branch Rickey Award recipient, according to the House announcement.
