A section of Hansen Road in Central Maui is closed from 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, to Friday afternoon, March 21, to allow the removal of dead tree branches overhanging the road, county officials announced.

The affected section of Hansen Road is between the Mokulele Highway and Pūlehu Road.

County officials say the overhanging tree branches are located along a heavily-traveled section of road, and are posing hazards to the area.

“The public’s understanding and patience during the closure are appreciated as workers address this important safety issue,” the announcement said.
