Hawaiʻi gas price averages increased across the state this week with gas in Wailuku listed at $4.32 for a gallon of regular, according to the AAA Hawaiʻi Weekend Gas Watch.

The Wailuku average is up two cents from last week, up seven cents from last month, but is down 23 cents from the same time last year, according to the report.

It’s also down 66 cents from the record price of $4.98 for Wailuku recorded by AAA on May 9, 2011.

“With average fuel prices continuing to go up, it’s important to remember to check the car’s tire pressure, use a moderate driving style and shop around for the best price per gallon,” said AAA Hawaiʻi General Manager Liane Sumida in a press release. “Following these practices will ensure the best fuel efficiency possible,” she said.
