Brush Fire Near Maui Lani Golf Course Burns 15 Acres

Maui firefighters are conducting mop up operations at a 15 acre brush fire near the Dunes at Maui Lani Golf Course in Kahului.
The fire was first reported at 10:17 a.m., and was 75% contained by 12:20 p.m., according to an update provided by Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.
The fire was burning area of brush between Hoʻomoku Street and the golf course.
Fire officials say no structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Maui fire crews also battled a separate quarter-acre fire reported at around 10:56 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, in Hāliʻimaile.
