Fire crews battled a small shoreline fire on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 14, in Paukukalo near the ʻĪao Stream river mouth.
Fire officials say crews arrived to find a 10 by 30 foot area of ocean driftwood burning on the rocky shoreline off of Kaʻae Road, on the Kahului side of the stream.
The fire was reported by neighbors in the area at around 3:33 p.m., and was extinguished by 4:19 p.m., according to department reports.
