A staffing shortage has resulted in missed trash pickup for residential refuse customers in parts of Haʻikū today (Friday, Sept. 19, 2014).

The County of Maui Solid Waste Division announced the missed route saying they expected to pickup trash on the missed route on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014.

Affected areas include: Haʻikū Road, Holokai Road, Kauhikoa Road, Kaupakalua Road, East and West Kuiaha Road, Luahine Place, Nanihōkū Place, Peʻahi Road, Ulumalu Road, and all surrounding side streets.

Department officials apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the public for their understanding and cooperation.
