An afternoon fire in Waikapū burned a quarter acre of brush and trash on Friday, Sept. 19, before being brought under control.

Fire officials say crews from Wailuku and Kahului responded to the blaze, located at the end of the old rubbish dump road off of Waikō Road.

The fire was reported at 12:22 p.m., and was extinguished by 1:27 p.m.

Authorities say the cause of the fire was undetermined, and no monetary losses or injuries were reported.
