Structure Fire at Towing Business in Puʻunēnē Doused

Maui firefighters doused a small structure fire at the Central Maui Baseyard in Puʻunēnē last night.

The incident was reported at 7:19 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, off of the Mokulele Highway.

Fire officials say crews arrived at the Amazing Towing and Collision Specialist business and came upon a fire to the rear of the building.

The filtering system for a paint booth was involved and was quickly brought under control and called extinguished shortly after 8 p.m., said Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.

According to FS Chief Mainaga, damage was contained to the filtering system and about 25% of the back exterior wall.

No injuries were reported and estimates on monetary damages were not immediately available.
