Aloha Contract Services Wins Westjet Cargo Contract for Kahului

Aloha Contract Services LLC today announced it has been awarded the cargo handling contract for all Westjet flights serving Kahului, Maui.
The company already provides ground handling services to the Canadian carrier in support of their daily services to Kona and Līhue, and their twenty-two weekly flights to Kahului, Maui.
“We are delighted that Westjet has again placed its confidence in Aloha Contract Services and our first class team of aviation professionals,” said ACS President, Mr. Gary Poe in a company press release.
“Winning this cargo handling contract in today’s highly competitive business climate is very rewarding for all our team, and will again provide new job opportunities for people on Maui,” said Poe.
Westjet’s current winter schedule runs through May, 2015 offering Hawaiʻi travelers and air freight customers direct flights from the islands to the Canadian cities of Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary.
ACS Vice President, Paul Skellon said teams on Kauaʻi and Maui have met or exceeded every goal set by Westjet during this past quarter. “This new business comes as a direct result of their great work, and I would like to offer our congratulations and sincere thanks to them all,” he said.
Aloha Contract Services and its associated cargo business, Pacific Air Cargo LLC, were formed in 2008 by CEO, Beti Ward. Aloha Contract Services currently employs a team of more than 400 aviation professionals in Honolulu, Kahului on Maui, Kona and Līhue.
Westjet was founded in 1996, and currently provides 425 daily flights to 90 destinations around the world and employs an estimated 9,600 people. The Calgary-based carrier began services to Honolulu and Maui in 2005 and added Līhue and Kona to its network in 2009.
