An inmate from the Maui Community Correctional Center was captured by state sheriffs on Friday morning, Feb. 6, 2015, after failing to return as planned from a day pass the day before.

Authorities say Raymond Ahuna, who was serving time for forgery and theft, left the facility at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, and failed to return at 6 p.m. as scheduled.

He was located and arrested on Friday morning within the Harbor Lights condominium parking lot in Wailuku.

According to facility reports, Ahuna was tentatively approved for parole prior to walking away, with his release date pending verification of an appropriate residence.
