Vendor applications and sponsorship forms are now available for the 2nd Annual Made in Maui County Festival scheduled to take place on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
The announcement was made today by the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development which is presenting the event in coordination with the Maui Chamber of Commerce.
More than 9,400 residents and visitors attended the 2014 inaugural event, which featured 130 vendors featuring a variety of made-in Maui County products.
Organizers say vendors sold more than $300,000 in products at last years event and gained 180 new wholesale accounts, as well as more than 1,000 new business leads for future sales.
The upcoming festival will expand upon last year’s success by offering additional vendors, products and food trucks.
“Supporting our local businesses is a win-win for our community,” said Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa in a press release statement. “Helping to grow our local product companies not only helps strengthen our community through job creation and diversification of our economy, but our visitors and residents also benefit by having an incredible array of locally made products to choose from at the Festival.”
In order to participate, products must meet minimum requirements of having 51% value added in Hawaiʻi. Vendors must also attend a mandatory training session and have their business based in Maui County.
County officials say the product mix, quality and creativity value of products will be considered during the vendor selection process.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses through event promotions, visibility during the Festival, access to a private buyers’ preview event and program advertising.
