The Bailey House Museum is offering free introductory tai chi classes.

By Maui Now Staff

(Bailey House Museum).

These special warm-up and stretching exercises work six different parts of the body with two different stretches for each body part.

The “Tai Chi for Arthritis Program,” developed by Dr. Paul Lam, is based on his personal experience of how tai chi helped relieve his own osteoarthritis pain.

While some tai chi forms require that students complete a complex series of movements with perfect form, “Tai Chi for Arthritis” participants are asked to do their best and have fun.

For more information or to register, call (808) 244-3326 during museum business hours, Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Watch for information and registration for our summer Tai Chi series at the museum, which will cover the six basic movements.

The Bailey House Museum is located at 2375A Main St. in Wailuku.

Call (808) 244-3326, go online or email the museum for more information.
