Wailuku First Friday Town Party to Celebrate May Day-Lei Day
Maui residents and visitors alike are invited to celebrate May Day-Lei Day at the First Friday Town Party in Wailuku.
Admission to Wailuku First Friday is free; the event includes great food, artisans, live music and street dancing.
Entertainment headliners include the Eric Giliom Band and Giliom’s sister, Amy Hanaiali ʻi, on the Maui Thing stage, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Maui OnStage will present Neil Simon’s “Brighton Beach Memoirs” at 7:30 p.m. at the Historic ʻĪao Theater. Tickets are $20 to $40.
Start the evening with a free yoga class at Body Alive at 4:45 p.m.
Kalani Pe1a and Dane Fujiwara will take the Maui Thing stage, and the Maui 8-Track Players will perform at Wailuku Banyan Tree Park–both beginning at 6 p.m.
Also beginning at 6 p.m., enjoy Hawaiian music in the Beer and Wine Garden.
Other activities and entertainment will include Street Magician Holden Mowat, the Be a Jerk underage drinking prevention program and photo booth, and the opportunity to spin the prize wheel with a donation to the Maui Food Bank.

For motorists, Market Street will be closed to through traffic beginning at 5:30 p.m. No cars will be permitted to park on the street and may be ticketed.
Maui Medical Group offers free parking for the event at the facility’s lot near the Main/High Street intersection. Find the event with GPS by entering “Maui thing, 7 North Market Street.”
