At approximately 7:04 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, firefighters from Makawao responded to a report of a fire at the Pukalani Golf Course Driving Range.

When crews arrived on scene at 7:11 p.m., firefighters found a golf cart fully engulfed in fire at the driving range area.  Fire officials say the fire was extinguished without incident and no injuries were reported.

Prior to the arrival of firefighters, department officials say a golf course attendant was using the cart to gather golf balls within the driving range, when he noticed smoke from under his seat.

When he stopped to investigate, fire reportedly erupted from the engine compartment located under the seat, according to department reports.
