Entrepreneurs Graduate; More Business Plan Sessions Scheduled

The Maui Economic Opportunity Inc. Business Development Program held a Core Four Business Planning course graduation ceremony on Aug. 18, 2015.

The graduating students received a Certificate of Achievement and a congratulations dinner.

Maui County Managing Director Keith Regan spoke briefly to the 15 students and encouraged the entrepreneurs to strengthen the community while building their businesses.

The graduates also received advice and guidance from local commercial lenders. The bankers reviewed the students’ business plans, providing suggestions and guidance for launching a successful business.

MEO BDC’s Core Four Business Planning is a 36-hour course on how to write a business plan while providing information about starting, operating and growing a business.

A one-hour introductory class about the course outline will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 1, and Thursday, Sept. 3, from 6 to 7 p.m. at MEO’s Family Center. The introductory class will also be held at the Maui County Business Resource Center (Maui Mall) on Wednesday, Sept. 2, from noon to 1 p.m.  

The six-week series begins on Tuesday, Sept. 8, and continues from 6 to 9 p.m. two days a week through Oct. 20, 2015.

All sessions will be held at MEO’s Family Center at 99 Mahalani Street in Wailuku.

Registration is required for the six-week series and can be done at the introductory classes or any weekday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at MEO’s Family Center.

Funding from the County of Maui Mayor’s Office of Economic Development and the CPB Foundation helps to make the Core Four Business Planning Course possible.
