A 71-year-old woman was hospitalized on Maui after being medevaced from waters off of Lahaina, Maui on Saturday afternoon.

The incident was reported at 12:05 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, when a passenger from the Lahaina Princess charter vessel was found unresponsive in the water.

The woman was recovered by crew members aboard the Lahaina Princess who administered CPR. The US Coast Guard says the woman became responsive after one round of compressions.

Crew members aboard a Coast Guard’s 45-foot response boat rendezvoused with the vessel, taking the woman and her family aboard and safely transferring her to Māʻalaea Harbor to meet awaiting Emergency Medical Services personnel at around 1 p.m.

The woman was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center for further treatment.
