North: Wave heights are expected to be knee/chest high for breaks open to the fading northwest swell. Trade swell continues for Hana area up to overhead to a few feet overhead.
West: Wave heights waist/chest high are expected today out of the south-southwest. Some breaks could get up to shoulder high on the sets. Spots shadowed by other islands will be pretty flat.
South: The south-southwest is expected to bring waist/chest high waves today. The best breaks could get up to shoulder/head high on the sets.
Our current south-southwest trends down today as a new bigger swell builds today, holds tomorrow and begins to trend down on Wednesday.
Our current northwest swell is also on a downward trend.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
