New Physician Joins Kaiser’s Pediatrics Department
Jodie Toward, MD, has joined the pediatrics department at Kaiser Permanente Maui Lani Medical Office in Wailuku.
She earned her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio, and completed her pediatric residency at Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina.
Dr. Toward is board certified in pediatrics.
Kaiser Permanente has also added seven new physicians to its facilities on O‘ahu.
These doctors join more than 600 physicians and other health care providers within the state’s largest medical group, the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group (HPMG), which provides comprehensive care to Kaiser Permanente’s 245,000-plus members in Hawai‘i.
Christina Bell, MD, PhD, joins the geriatric medicine department at Kaiser Permanente Honolulu Medical Office. She received her medical degree from the University of Hawai‘i, John A. Burns School of Medicine, where she completed fellowships in geriatric medicine and medical education. Dr. Bell also holds a Master of Science and doctorate degree in clinical research from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. She completed her residency at the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho in Boise, Idaho. Dr. Bell is an instructor and professor of geriatric medicine at the University of Hawai‘i, John A. Burns School of Medicine. She is board certified in geriatric medicine, family medicine, and hospice and palliative medicine.
Alisa Ching, MD, practices hospital medicine at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center. She earned her medical degree from the University of Hawai‘i, John A. Burns School of Medicine, where she also completed her residency. Dr. Ching is board certified in internal medicine.
John Heaphy, MD, specializes in otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat) at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, where he also completed his residency in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery. Dr. Heaphy completed his fellowship in head and neck surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Heaphy also served as an instructor in otolaryngology at Vanderbilt University. He is board eligible in otolaryngology.
Ynhu Le, MD, will practice internal medicine at Kaiser Permanente Honolulu Medical Office. She earned her medical degree and completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Hawai‘i, John A. Burns School of Medicine. Dr. Le is board certified in internal medicine.
Jennifer Lum, MD, joins the obstetrics and gynecology department at Kaiser Permanente Waipio Medical Office. She earned her medical degree and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine, where she serves as an assistant professor. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Brannon Raney, MD, MPH, specializes in infectious disease at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, and his Master of Public Health in tropical medicine from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Raney completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dr. Raney previously served as infectious disease medical director at AMG Specialty Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is board certified in infectious disease and internal medicine.
Steve Wang, MD, practices orthopedic surgery at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Wang completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, where he was chief resident. He completed a hand surgery fellowship at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, New York. Dr. Wang is board eligible in orthopedic surgery.
