A WestJet flight from Vancouver to Kahului, Maui was aborted on take-off on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, due to a blown tire, airline officials confirm.

WestJet spokesperson, Lauren Stewart tells Maui Now the incident involved flight 1876 during its departure from Vancouver International Airport yesterday morning.

Stewart said there were no injuries, but the event resulted in the temporary closure of the south runway of the Vancouver airport.

Guests flew to Hawaiʻi on Monday afternoon on another WestJet aircraft which was scheduled to depart at 3:30 p.m. Vancouver time.
