Moderate trade winds are expected to prevail statewide through Friday. Stable and rather dry conditions are forecast over most areas, with an increase in windward rainfall expected on the Big Island and Maui early Friday. Winds will shift out of the southeast over the western end of the island chain late Friday and Saturday as a front approaches. The dissipating front will likely fuel increased showers over portions of the state during the first part of next week, while high pressure setting up northwest of the state drives breezy and gusty trade winds over all islands.
Today we expect partly cloudy skies with scattered windward and mauka showers and mostly clear skies in leeward areas. Winds are out of the east from 10 to 20 mph. High temperatures from 80° to 85°.
UV index at 9 (“very high” exposure level)
East winds are expected from 10 to 20 mph tonight. Low temperatures from 67° to 73°. Partly cloudy skies are forecast with windward showers and mostly clear skies for leeward spots.
