A visitor was transported to the Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical, life-threatening condition, after he was found floating and unresponsive while snorkeling off of Molokini on Friday morning, police said.

The 64-year-old man from Arlington, Texas, was part of a group taken to the popular snorkeling destination aboard a Trilogy boat.

Maui police say crew members were able to carry the man back onto the boat where CPR was administered.

The Coast Guard and Medic personnel met with the vessel to transport the man to the Kīhei Boat Ramp, where he was prepared for transport to the hospital.

The incident was reported at around 9:50 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2016.
