West: Wrap from the northwest swell affecting some western shores today. Spots with the exposure could get waist/head high waves.

South: Wave heights are pretty flat.

A small northwest swell is forecast to show this weekend and will bring increasing surf to north and west facing shores peaking Saturday.

Screen Shot 2016-02-19 at 9.48.36 PMA couple of large XXL northwest swells are expected soon. The first is forecast to build late Sunday and peak on Monday, likely bringing warning level surf to north and west facing shores of most of the islands into Tuesday.

The second is due to arrive Wednesday night into Thursday/Friday next week.

Out of the SPAC, a South Tasman storm will generate a small swell from Wednesday through Friday.

Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
