Applications for Kamehameha Scholars statewide college and career prep program for the 2016-17 school year are available through March 31, 2016.

Kamehameha Scholars is a year-round supplementary educational enrichment program with a focus on college and career guidance.

The mission of the Kamehameha Scholars program is to support Native Hawaiian students in achieving a higher education degree, entering the career of their choosing and cultivating their ability to be servant leaders.

Through enrollment in the Kamehameha Scholars program, scholars have the opportunity to gain skills that will help them be successful in high school, college, and beyond; they will be able to effectively plan and implement their plans for life after high school; they will be offered real-world experiences while learning more about college and careers; and they will make friendships that will last a lifetime.Through active participation in the program, students have the opportunity to:

  • Develop leadership skills to assist them throughout their high school careers and beyond
  • Increase awareness and commitment to lifelong service to their communities
  • Explore, match and take action on post-high plans
  • Gain skills needed for effectively competing in the 21st century
    Earn a Merit Scholarship

With support from program counselors, students and their families attend workshops with interactive lessons and exercises throughout the year. Students who complete the program will earn a valuable tuition scholarship.

Programs are available for high school students entering grades 9 through 12 who reside on the islands of Hawai‘i, O‘ahu, Kaua‘i or Maui. (Seats for grades 10 through 12 are based on availability.)

Students attending a Kamehameha Schools K-12 campus are not eligible.
