The state house today approved more than $200 million in funds for renovations at the Maui Community Correctional Center in Wailuku, according to an announcement from the Hawaiʻi House of Representatives.

The funding is the largest appropriation among a list of Capital Improvement Projects approved by the House for the Central Maui district.

The second largest appropriation was $10.65 million for two CIP projects at Kahului Harbor including: $150,000 to install bathroom facilities (DLNR) and $10,500,000 to provide for safer, more efficient use of operational areas.
