Maui Historical Society to Present Hawaiian Language Workshop

The Maui Historical Society will host an E Ho‘oulu ‘Ike Cultural Enrichment Workshop about Hawaiian Language at Hale Ho‘ike‘ike​ on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with UHMC Professor Kumu Kiope Raymond.

Discussion will include the history and modern advances of Hawaiian language and its place in current technology with a special look at some of the historical Hawaiian language newspapers preserved by the Maui Historical Society at the museum.

Attendees are invited to bring lunch and spend a morning taking a close look at the current state of Hawaiian language affairs.

Residents and visitors alike are invited to attend.

The workshop is free of charge made possibly through sponsorship by the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority.
