The County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation, Aquatics Division, will offer free “Learn to Swim” lessons in partnership with Maui Swim Club.

In order for a child to participate in the program, parents must attend a mandatory meeting tonight (on Friday, June 10, 2016) at 6 p.m. at the Coach Spencer Shiraishi Memorial Pool near the Salvation Army on Kaulawahine Street in Kahului.

Participation will be on a first-come first-served basis, with a limited number of application packets being distributed at the meeting.

The Learn to Swim lessons begin Monday, June 13 from 6 to 6:30 p.m. and end on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016. Children must be at least 4-years-old by the program’s start date in order to participate.

Rules for participation and the schedule of classes will be announced at the mandatory parent meeting on June 10th.  For more information, call Fran Yamamoto in the Aquatics Division at (808) 270-6138.
