Unsettled weather is likely for much of this week as showers are forecast to increase in coverage and intensity for the next 12 to 18 hours. Locally heavy rainfall is possible through at least Wednesday. A Flash Flood Watch is currently posted for the Big Island but is likely to be expanded to parts of Maui County as the weather situation begins to unfold. The most active weather is expected tonight though Tuesday night. Drier and more stable conditions should return late in the week. A tropical disturbance is expected to pass south of Hawaii early next week. Will keep an eye on it.
Mostly cloudy with increasing windward showers and showers likely by the afternoon for Molokai. Showers likely in windward and mauka spots throughout the day for Maui. Locally heavy rainfall is possible. Scattered showers for leeward areas. High temperatures from 82° to 87°. East winds around 15 to 20 mph with higher gusts.
