screen-shot-2016-10-12-at-10-12-11-pmOverlapping northwest swells will keep the surf up along north and west facing shores through the remainder of the week and into the weekend due to a very active pattern across the northwest Pacific. The surf should trend down Friday through the upcoming weekend along north and west facing shores.

A small to moderate south swell associated with a recent batch of gales over the Tasman Sea is expected to fill in Thursday and hold through Friday night before easing. The peak of this event will be through the day Thursday at levels that should remain below advisory criteria.

Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
